Graham Norton delivered a ‘brutal’ Eurovision 2025 verdict over Ukraine’s act at the final of the singing competition.

The Irish TV presenter was on commentary duties for the BBC for the 16th year, having taken over from the late Terry Wogan in 2009.

Fans of Graham were delighted with the amount of him they got in the BBC’s Super Saturday, with the 62-year-old making a cameo in the latest episode of Doctor Who.

Shortly after appearing as a hologram in the sci-fi series, Graham was back in the commentary booth to have his say on this year’s crop of talent.

One act who faced the brunt of Graham’s critiques was Ukraine’s act Ziferblat, made up of Daniel Leshchynskyi, Valentyn Leshchynskyi and Fedir Khodakov, Ziferblat.

The former X-Factor Ukraine act, where they were mentored by former Eurovision contestant Verka Serduchk, Ziferblat performed their song Bird of Pray.

Prior to each act’s performance, Graham provided some insight into where the contestants came from as videos played of them visiting Swiss tourist attractions.

When it came time to comment on Ziferblat, Graham made a hilarious comparison between their outfits and former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

“I’m not trying to imagine what Thatcher would look like at the prom but here’s Ukraine’s entry,” he said.

Those watching the Eurovision on BBC One, rushed to X, previously known as Twitter, to have their say on the moment that left them in stitches.

@dreurovision said: “Teenage Maggie Thatcher for Ukraine. Bravo Graham Norton. @bbceurovision #Eurovision.” @edens_mfc added: “GRAHAM DID NOT JUST SAY DANYA LOOKS LIKE A TEENAGE MARGARET THATCHER.”

@donkitin wrote: “‘teenage maggie thatcher’ Graham that was FOUL.” @kccfoord posted: “NOT GRAHAM NORTON CALLING THE UKRANIAN A TEENAGE MAGGIE THATCHER LMAOOOO AT PROM #Eurovision.”

@kaytweets_x commented: “Teenage Maggie thatcher. Graham is brutal tonight #Eurovision.” @kiwi_riffle posted: “Ukraine these outfits are so silly, I’m in love! Graham isn’t serious, teenage maggie thatcher.”

The quip arrived just moments after Graham appeared to be having issues with his microphone at the beginning of the night, with some struggling to hear what he was saying.
