A residential road was sealed off after gunfire was reportedly heard.

Police descended on Clements Road in Yardley after shots were allegedly fired in the early hours of Sunday (May 18).

A cordon was placed at the junction of Barn Meadow Road while investigations were underway.

No injuries were reported and extra patrols will be put in place.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “We’re investigating reports of a firearms discharge on Clements Road in the early hours of this morning (18 May).

“Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

“We know how concerning this will have been in the community and we will have extra officers in the area to provide reassurance.”
