Britain’s Got Talent star Max Fox performed a “twist” on his original audition song during tonight’s live show.
The professional singer shocked both the audience and judges at the audition stage when he appeared from the crowd, asking Simon Cowell to let him perform.
The spontaneous rendition of Frank Sinatra’s ‘My Way’ earned him a Golden Buzzer from Amanda Holden, sending him straight through to the semi-finals.
In tonight’s live episode, Max was given the chance to reperform the song with a bit more preparation than he had in his audition.
“My first audition was messy, emotional and raw. So tonight, I’ve made a bold choice. I’m gonna sing ‘My Way’ again – with a bit of a twist,” he explained in the VT.

“This is my chance to really perform it, to show you the version I would’ve done if I had time to prepare and take a breath. I’m not a one-trick pony, I’m just finally getting to do this my way.”
In a step up from his original audition, the semi-final performance saw Max in a stylish black suit with gold accents, as he showcased his impressive vocal range. The classic staging featured a backdrop of bright lights and ended with a flurry of fireworks.

The singer was met with a standing ovation from Simon and Amanda, with the latter expressing her pride in her Golden Buzzer act.
“We all feel how much this means to you. You fought so hard to get there. This moment, you did it your way and you did it very well, my darling,” said Bruno Tonioli.
“Your story and journey has been fascinating,” added Alesha Dixon. “Even we were suspicious of your journey. We couldn’t believe how authentic that moment was so I applaud you for that. You rose to the occasion and you rose to the occasion once again tonight.
Unfortunately, Max ultimately missed out on a place in the final, coming second in the public vote.
