The world premiere of a movie about Ozzy Osbourne will be held in Birmingham ahead of the Prince of Darkness’ final show at Villa Park Stadium.

The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne will be screened at Millennium Point on Friday, July 4 with a question and answer session to be hosted by special guest Jack Osbourne.

The acclaimed film details Ozzy’s life story, from his beginnings in Aston through the rise of Black Sabbath and his solo career.

The film will be shown at 4pm and at 6:30pm at Millennium Point, with Jack Osbourne appearing live for the latter of the two screenings.

Ozzy is going ‘Back To The Beginning’ for Black Sabbath’s final gig which will take place on Saturday, July 5.

A vast number of heavy metal fans are expected to flood into Birmingham for the heavy metal supershow, which will also feature acts like Metallica, Anthrax and Slayer.

It’ll be hosted by Hollywood star Jason Momoa and will run all day, from 10am until curfew.

Since the gig was announced, a number of supporting events have been revealed, including a special concert at Birmingham Town Hall.

BBC Radio WM Celebrates Metal in the Midlands will feature a number of up-and-coming West Midlands bands who have been influenced by Black Sabbath over the years – read about that here.

Millennium Point CEO Abbie Vlahakis said: “Like all of Birmingham, we love the Osbournes so are excited to be hosting the world premiere of The Nine Lives Of Ozzy Osbourne at Millennium Point.

“Birmingham’s biggest star belongs on Birmingham’s biggest screen!”

All profits from the event, like the profits from the Back To The Beginning gig, will be donated equally between Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorns Children’s Hospice.
