A Birmingham pub will reopen their kitchen with ‘unbeatable prices’, including burgers cheaper than McDonald’s.

Located in Bartley Green, The Balmoral is introducing a new menu with fish and chips, chicken nuggets and scampi amongst the additions.

The kitchen will reopen this Friday (May 23) with the plan to stay open for future weekends.

If food and drink at the pub prove to be successful, The Balmoral will extend opening hours to weekdays.

Burgers at The Balmoral reinforce the ‘unbeatable prices’ message with a beef burger costing only £2.50.

Other options include a chicken burger (£2.50) a cheeseburger (£2.70) and a jumbo hot dog (£2.50).

By comparison, a quarter pounder from McDonald’s is £5.09 and a McChicken sandwich is £4.79.

Announcing the news on social media, The Balmoral posted: “We are pleased to announce that on a trial basis starting this weekend, Patrick and Nick will re-open the kitchen and provide quality food at unbeatable prices.

“Hopefully if popular, they will be extending to weekdays at a later date so please support them over the coming weeks and give them any suggestions and let’s keep The Balmoral serving food.”

The Balmoral has a 4.2 score out of five stars on Google Reviews.

A customer identified as Vernon said: “Visited this pub in the outskirts of Birmingham, nice crowd.

“We went in on a ska night, witnessed a warm Midland hospitality from them. Great place to have a pint or two.”

A different customer named Matthew commented: “Nice little pub. Friendly great bar staff and great atmosphere.”

And a different customer said: “The barman is sound and the pub itself is really well presented inside with a good pool table and a good selection of drinks.

“Good place to chill with your mates.”
