The uplifting and emotional afternoon celebrated some of Liverpool’s most inspiring women as they shared their personal stories, while raising over £10,000 in support of the HIPEC Appeal, which funds pioneering research and treatments for women with ovarian cancer.
Welcoming more than 130 guests, the event brought together supporters from local businesses, community leaders, and advocates for women’s health. Organised in collaboration with beauty pageant veterans Sarah Roberts and Danni Smith, the Power Pageant was developed as a heartfelt celebration of sisterhood, resilience, and hope, particularly for those whose lives have been touched by ovarian cancer.
Kate Davis, Head of Fundraising at Liverpool Women’s Charity, said:
“We wanted to try something bold and different, a celebration of strength, self-belief and sisterhood. The Power Pageant gave women a platform to share their stories and shine in their own unique way, while raising vital funds for a cause that matters deeply to us. We’re incredibly proud of what’s been achieved and the incredible women who made it happen.”
The Crown was awarded to Laura Boateng, an Operating Department Practitioner Team Leader at Liverpool Women’s Hospital, whose commitment to women’s health was an inspiration to those attending. Bernie Morrow took the first runner-up crown and Tracy Mullen was the second runner-up and both shared deeply movies stories reflecting their own experiences.

“”Working alongside Liverpool Women’s Hospital for such a meaningful cause was an absolute pleasure. Raising funds for new equipment that will make a real difference locally to Liverpool and our community felt incredibly rewarding. I’m so glad we could offer The Clubhouse as the setting – seeing the venue come to life in a completely different way, with the catwalk fitting perfectly into the space, was brilliant. The energy for the whole afternoon was buzzing, and the women involved were truly inspirational.”
