Princess Diana‘s nieces Lady Amelia Spencer and Lady Eliza Spencer proved that twin dressing doesn’t end in childhood at the Cannes Film Festival this week.

The stylish 32-year-old sisters made their monochromatic mark on the La Venue De L’avenir red carpet at Cannes’ Palais des Festivals on May 22. They donned complementary strapless gowns with a peplum waist and skirts with train detail, Amelia wearing a white version while Eliza was dressed in black.

The twins are the daughters of Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer, and have often donned coordinated — if not exactly matching — high-fashion looks at major events, including the 2024 British Fashion Awards last December.

Their older sister, Lady Kitty Spencer, 34, also walked the same Cannes red carpet in a purple sequinned Dolce & Gabbana gown with a keyhole cutout.

The Spencer sisters, along with their younger brother, Louis, grew up in South Africa to avoid media scrutiny over their royal connections. Their parents, Charles and Victoria, divorced in 1997, just a few months after Princess Diana was killed in a car accident in Paris.

Nevertheless, the family has remained proud and supportive of their royal family members.

In January 2025, Kitty, Amelia and Eliza gave an interview with Tatler, in which they spoke about their cousin Prince William taking the reins of one of Diana’s charities, Centrepoint, as one of his first royal patronages.

“I think [Diana] put the name out there. Centrepoint has been a cherished charity that my family and I have supported for many years,” Kitty said of the organization, which aims to help homeless youth in the U.K. “I’m extremely proud of my cousin Prince William for all he does and continues to do to support Centrepoint and the vital work they provide to homeless young people.”

In the interview, Kitty also shared rare details about her daughter, Athena, 2, whom she shares with her husband, Michael Lewis, a 65-year-old South African businessman.

“She’s very similar to the twins,” she said of her little girl. “It’s so funny … so cool for her when she has these two aunts that come bursting through the door. I don’t think she thinks there’s an age gap.”

“I don’t think we think there’s an age gap,” Amelia agreed.

“So there’s actually a triplet there for them,” Kitty added. “When the girls are on the phone and she doesn’t want them to go, she pulls out her whole repertoire of tricks.”
