West Ham fans sent a clear message to Thomas Tuchel with chants from the stands — as Jarrod Bowen did his talking on the pitch to leave the England boss red-faced.

The Hammers secured a 3-1 win over already relegated Ipswich Town to bring an end to a disappointing season.

But it was Jarrod Bowen making all the headlines before and after the game at Portman Road.

West Ham were outraged ahead of the match when Bowen was left out of the England squad.

Bowen’s absence was a shock because he was included in Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad back in March.

Tuchel angered West Ham with Bowen snub

That was much to the delight of West Ham who have felt Bowen had not been given the respect and opportunities his performances, record and consistency deserved under Gareth Southgate and Lee Carsley.

Tuchel called-up West Ham’s top scorer ahead of the likes of Marcus Rashford and others in his first England squad.

There were initially conflicting reports about why Bowen’s name was not among those called up for England’s June fixtures, though.

It was claimed in some quarters that Bowen had asked Tuchel not to be selected for this England squad as a result of his upcoming wedding plans.

There were also counter claims that Bowen had simply been left out by Tuchel.

Irons boss Graham Potter confirmed Bowen was overlooked by Tuchel for the latest Three Lions selection.

West Ham were left furious as shameful new details of Tuchel’s Bowen England snub emerged.

As revealed by Hammers News, a prominent club source confirmed Bowen offered to move his entire wedding to make himself available for England duty – not once but TWICE.

West Ham fans target Tuchel with chants as Bowen embarrasses England boss

Despite the selfless, committed offer, Tuchel opted to leave West Ham’s main man out anyway.

Tuchel’s decision looks even more questionable in light of Bowen’s statistics for West Ham.

The world’s leading football analysts WhoScored show Bowen is the highest rated available English player in Europe’s top five leagues not to have been selected by Tuchel.

Bowen has better goal and assist record than Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and always turns up for the Hammers in big games when it matters most.

He has had four goals and two assists in the six games before Tuchel named his squad.

Chelsea’s Noni Madueke has no goals or assists in the same time and neither does another who has been called up – Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon.

Now the Hammers faithful and their number 20 have left the Three Lions boss with egg on his face.

Where would the Hammers be without their captain?

Well losing away at already relegated Ipswich for a start.

Bowen was yet again superb for the Hammers as he laid on a brilliant assist before scoring another absolute belter to literally single-handedly give his side the win before Mohammed Kudus added some late breathing space.

It means Bowen has 11 goal contributions in his last 12 Premier League matches.

‘Too good for England’ Hammers fans tell Tuchel

The West Ham star spent two months out injured earlier in the year yet still has 14 goals and 10 assists in 36 appearances this season, playing in a poor West Ham side.

Hammers fans showed what they thought of Tuchel’s snub at Portman Road.

The travelling West Ham army belted out two chants aimed at the German.

First came ‘Too good for England’ on repeat about Bowen following Tuchel’s decision.

Hammers fans have never been shy in making their feelings clear and don’t beat around the bush.

The second chant was X-rated with West Ham fans chanting ‘Thomas Tuchel you’re a —-‘.

When Bowen wheeled away in celebration he very briefly lifted the shoulders of his shirt to highlight his name.

An embarrassing day for Tuchel, who had better hope those called up in Bowen’s place show they are worth it.
