All eyes will be on the top of the Championship table once again on Saturday, as another testing round of fixtures daws upon Leeds United, Burnley, and Sheffield United.

Burney are in action first. They host Norwich City on Friday night and have the chance to put some extra pressure on both Leeds United and Sheffield United who play at 12:30pm on Saturday afternoon.

But Scott Parker is unhappy with the scheduling for this weekend insisting that his side have drawn the short straw by playing first.

Meanwhile, Daniel Farke will look to take the positivity of the last few days into their game at Elland Road on Saturday, after Leeds United’s 1-0 win at Middlesbrough in the week lifted them from 3rd to 1st place of the Championship table.

Sheffield United were dealt a second-straight defeat on Tuesday night, losing 1-0 at home to Millwall to leave Chris Wilder furious with the referees, as was Farke after the controversies in the game at Middlesbrough.

All of Leeds United, Burnley and Sheffield United have played 41 games in the Championship this season. As things stand, Leeds and Burnley are level on 85 points whilst Sheffield United in 3rd are on 83.

After Burnley play Norwich City on the Friday, Leeds United welcome Preston to Elland Road whilst Sheffield United make the trip down to Plymouth Argyle. And giving his score predictions on Championship Check In ahead of the weekend, Parkin has predicted wins all round.

Parkin has backed Burnley to win 2-1, Leeds United to win 3-0, and Sheffield United to pick up a 1-0 win away at Plymouth, which would keep the top of the Championship table as is, but with three extra points for each team.

Leeds United handed potentially worrying EFL update ahead of Preston

After the game against Middlesbrough, Farke will just want a game with no refereeing controversies.

That night, Darren Williams disallowed two Leeds United goals to leave fans, pundits, and Farke all fuming at the level of officiating in the Championship. Since, the EFL have demoted Williams to League One for Saturday’s round of fixtures.

But in an update that might prove as controversial, John Busby has been appointed referee for Leeds United’s game against Preston; he’s already been called out for certain decisions in Leeds games this season.

Earlier in the season as well, former West Brom and Leeds no.2 Carlos Corberan blasted Busby over a penalty call which he missed.

But Leeds United have enough quality to get through games without having to rely on a strong refereeing performance.

Kick off against Preston is at 12:30pm on Saturday.
