A man has been charged with multiple offences after a number of police vehicles were rammed in a Birmingham street.

It happened in Holly Road, near Handsworth Park, on Thursday, May 22.

West Midlands Police ’s Project Guardian team said officers attempted to stop a black Mini in the Soho Road area of the city after it rammed a number of police vehicles while being chased.

The Mini was pictured with damage to its windscreen and driver’s side window.

Jerome Jeffrey, aged 30, of no fixed address, was charged with dangerous driving, attacking and obstructing police.

He made a first appearance at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, May 24.

He was remanded in custody and is set to appear at Birmimngham Crown Court later this month.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “Jerome Jeffrey, 30, of no fixed address has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker.

“He has also been charged with obstructing police and dangerous driving after an incident on Holly Road on May 22.

“He was remanded in custody and appeared before the city’s magistrates court on May 24.

“He will appear before the city’s crown court on June 23.”
