If you use a Galaxy Watch, you might want to check your settings as a new software update is rolling out for select models.
Samsung typically rolls out only a few Galaxy Watch updates each year, with at least one major one. Currently, the company is rolling out one of its more minor updates for select Galaxy Watch devices.
For the latest Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra, the company is rolling out a new update with the May 2025 security update. This includes to variants on Verizon, but we’re seeing a changelog for standard units that show the March 2025 security patch and a very brief changelog:
- The usability of device operations has been improved.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro are also being updated, but with the March 2025 security patch. This latest update is the first widely available update of 2025 for these devices, though. An April update went out for some users a few weeks ago, but that one skipped over many regions and variants.

The next major update for Galaxy Watch is based on Wear OS 6, with the One UI 8 Watch update rumored to deliver some bigger UI and UX changes. More than likely, that new software will make its formal debut on the Galaxy Watch 8 series next month, but it seems likely that a beta program will be coming ahead of that.
