Former Death in Paradise star Joséphine Jobert has shared exciting update on her returning crime drama.

Following her exit as Florence Cassell from BBC’s crime comedy-drama last year, Jobert swapped Saint Marie for Saint-Pierre, a new series which sees her in yet another police role (on yet another island).

The Canadian show follows Donny ‘Fitz’ Fitzpatrick (Allan Hawco), a Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Inspector who is exiled to work in Saint-Pierre et Miquelon after investigating the dodgy dealings of a local politician.

Fitz is forced to work with Deputy Chief Geneviève ‘Arch’ Archambault (Jobert), a Parisian who has her own reasons for being in Saint-Pierre, with the pair teaming up to solve crimes in the community.

Following its premiere earlier in Canada this year, a second season of Saint-Pierre was formally announced last month, with Jobert and her co-stars confirming on Instagram that production on the follow-up was underway.

“Thrilled to announce that principal photography has officially begun on Season 2, coming to @cbc and @cbcgem Winter 2026. Who’s ready?” read the caption, alongside a snap of the two leads on set.

The announcement was positively received by fans in the comment section, with one enthusiastic user writing: “AAAAAHHHH WINTER 2026 NEEDS TO HURRY UP…..IM SO EXCITED.”

The second season of Saint-Pierre will be eagerly anticipated by fans of the show, who have been calling for new episodes since its initial premiere.

“This show has me hooked and there have only been 4 episodes so far. The plotline of a cop/detective entering a new working environment and working with new people is something that I always enjoy watching,” wrote on fan on IMDB.

“Series started with it’s feet hitting the ground swiftly and surely,” added another viewer. “Hawco is great as Fitz. The chemistry between he and the Arch character is great. Purefoy is diabolical as the promised nemesis of the the police department and the island at large.”

Beyond Paradise and Death in Paradise both air on BBC One and stream on BBC iPlayer.
