Germany and France are both looking to pick themselves up off the dirt after uneven performances in the semifinals.
Germany just never looked authoritative for too long and lacked chemistry. When coupled with a poor game plan and poor execution, it was the perfect combination for the rare loss to Portugal.
As for France, it buried itself into a massive hole with a 4-0 deficit before mounting a massive charge to have the game finish 5-4 in favor of Spain.
Clearly, both squads hoped for much better.
Team news
Here is the predicted lineup, courtesy of BFW:
It seems unlikely that Julian Nagelsmann will change too much. He could opt for a more defensively-minded midfielder Pascal Groß and a more veteran presence at striker in Niclas Füllkrug, but otherwise, things could look very similar.
As for France, Ousmane Dembélé, Bradley Barcola, and Clément Lenglet are out.
