We may already be a few days into Pride Month, but it is not until July that Bristol’s much-loved Pride celebrations will culminate. Bristol Pride Day not only sees a colourful march through the city’s streets, but a massive festival on The Downs.
Some huge artists in the world of music will be taking to the stage to celebrate love, community and all things Pride, here in Bristol. There will be drag acts, cabaret shows and even some after-parties to head to if you want the celebrations to continue.
To help you get ready for this award-winning event, we’ve compiled a guide filled with everything we know so far about the parade and music festival – so all you need to worry about is what you’re going to wear.
This includes everything from how to get there, whether tickets are still available, who’s on the line-up, and even what you can and can’t bring to The Downs event with you:
When and where is Bristol Pride Day?
Bristol Pride Day on The Downs takes place on Saturday, July 12, from 12-9.45pm. An after-party takes place at the O2 Academy from 10pm.
The Pride March itself happens first in the city centre – it will see participants gather at 10am and depart at 10.45am from the Band Stand at Castle Park.
The march will head through the city centre and onto the Amphitheatre where official shuttle buses depart for The Downs.
The march is free for members of the public to join, but all businesses who are not already a Pride Partner or Supporter, will need to register and make a small donation to take part.

There are five bars across the Pride Day at The Downs site, as well as a dedicated cocktail bar located next to the Community Tent. Free drinking water is available at all bars and drinking water taps – bring an empty water bottle with you to refill.
You can’t bring your own alcohol into the festival and no glass is allowed onsite at all.
All bars accept card only. If you don’t have a bank card, you can bring cash and exchange it for a temporary card at the information point.
Food offerings from all over the world feature among the foodie line-up this year, with more vegan options too.
Getting to the festival
All wristband holders get free travel on all FirstBus Bristol Zones. You’ll be emailed a code in the two weeks prior to Pride Day to enter into the FirstBus app for your free ticket.
There’s also a dedicated shuttle bus service from the Amphitheatre to The Downs. These run from 11am to 10pm and are free for wristband holders, or charged at the FirstBus standard single fare.
The 1, 2,3 or 4 FirstBus services will take you to The Downs. Use stops College Green (P1) and The Cenotaph (C10). You can catch these same services outside of Clifton Down Shopping Centre if taking the train to Clifton Down.
Organisers urge festivalgoers to consider walking, using an e-scooter or train if you are able to. Buses are expected to be very busy throughout the day.
