Good Morning Britain presenter Richard Madeley was supported by his co-star Susanna Reid on Monday
Good Morning Britain star Richard Madeley was flooded with support as he shared a “painful” injury on Monday (June 9).
During today’s instalment of the hit ITV news programme, Richard and his colleague Susanna Reid discussed the latest news from across the UK and around the world.
They spoke about Greta Thunberg, who claims she and other activists have been “intercepted and kidnapped” after their Gaza aid boat was stopped by Israel.
The duo also addressed the NHS’s recent calls for a million new blood donors to come forward as it warns that supplies are critically low.
Before discussing the headlines, Richard shared that he had suffered a double wrist fracture in France over the weekend, reports the Manchester Evening News.

“Good Morning Britain, it’s just gone six o’clock, welcome to the programme,” Susanna began, before turning to Richard who had a cast on his wrist.
“Richard, you better explain. You’ve come back into the studio… That looks sore.”
In response, Richard explained: “I thought you were gonna say, ‘Did I have a good break?’ Yeah, it’s a double fracture of the wrist. I was walking quite quickly down a steep pavement in France, actually, on Friday.
“The pavement was loose and it flipped up and it flipped me forward, and I thought, ‘Am I gonna win or is gravity gonna win?’ And gravity won, and I hit the ground hard. So yeah, I’ve got a double fracture and we’ll see how it goes.”
Susanna then asked: “Is it sore at the moment?” with Richard firmly responding: “I’m not discussing the pain threshold. We don’t think about pain.”

“Okay, we’re just going to distract ourselves. It’s good to have you back,” Susanna added.
Richard concluded: “It’s nice to be back,” while Susanna expressed her support: “Let’s hope you recover quickly.”
Elsewhere during today’s show, Ranvir Singh announced breaking news on the ongoing protests against immigration raids in Los Angeles.
She handed over to North America correspondent Noel Phillips, who was live in LA speaking to protestors.
During the segment, a loud bang was heard on air, with Ranvir later confirming: “Just to be clear, my producer is telling me that that was fireworks. Just want to make that clear for you, because it is obviously alarming to hear that kind of sound behind a live report.”
