Coronation Street’s Lou Michaelis could have to face social services in an emotional new story.

Recent weeks have highlighted the Michaelis family‘s chaotic home life, with the revelation of Mick Michaelis’ domestic abuse. When Mick attacked his wife, causing a wound on her head, Lou tried to escape to a women’s shelter with their daughters Shanice and Joanie.

Cab driver Tim Metcalfe took Lou to the hospital and helped to look after her girls at his house.

Friday’s episode reveals the extent of the damage caused by villain Mick, when Tim offers his childminding services again. Sally isn’t pleased with the arrangement as she thinks Lou is using Tim.

Meanwhile, Joanie and Shanice panic when they witness a small row between the couple, and they cling to each other, visibly scared. Their heartbreaking reaction doesn’t go unnoticed by the Metcalfes.

In next week’s scenes, Sally and Tim discuss their concerns about Lou’s children, with Sally suggesting they speak to social services. Tim is unsure about the right course of action, but will he agree with his wife?

After taking care of Lou’s daughters, Sally tells Tim she feels more sure than ever that they would make great foster parents. Will their family plans work out?
