CHELAN COUNTY —The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office Behavioral Health Unit is hosting several community town hall meetings about navigating grief this week.

The events, meant to support the community in response to the Decker girls tragedy, will be led by Executive Director of Pacific Northwest Support Services Julie Boyer, who specializes in trauma care for first responders, children and families.

Topics include how children process grief supporting families through loss, community resources for healing, age-appropriate ways to talk about death. The Sheriff’s Office says the events will “offer practical guidance from mental health professionals, space for open discussion, and resources for families and caregivers.”
