Widnes Vikings are proud to announce that SIX new inductees will be added to the club’s prestigious Hall of Fame as part of the upcoming 1975 Challenge Cup 50th Anniversary Celebration.
As part of the planning for this landmark event, the Vikings Board of Directors has worked closely with club historian Ste Fox, statistician Mike Healing, and archivist Deb Townsend to develop a clear and thorough set of criteria to assess Hall of Fame eligibility—specifically focusing on players from the club’s golden era of the 1970s.
Following this detailed consultation, it has been decided that six players with outstanding credentials and lasting contributions to the club’s history will be formally inducted during the celebration evening at the DCBL Stadium on Friday, 11th July.
This special set of inductions will not only honour the 1975 Challenge Cup triumph but also serve as a wider tribute to the club’s rich and successful era throughout the 1970s.
The identities of the six inductees will be revealed in the coming weeks, building anticipation as we count down to what promises to be a memorable occasion for everyone associated with the club.
