Police investigating the ongoing gang war in Scotland have made two more arrests to bring the total to 44.

Violence has been spreading throughout the country in recent months with a number of houses set on fire and cars being firebombed.

Police recovered a firearm in the Roseburn Path area of Edinburgh on Wednesday and a 25-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with that incident.

Officers also executed warrants at addresses in South Queensferry and Edinburgh on Friday morning with a 22-year-old man arrested and charged in connection in connection with fire-raising of a vehicle in Edinburgh.

A 21-year-old man has also been reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with wilful fire-raising at two properties in Glasgow and on in Shotts in April.
