Paramount Pictures has premiered a new one-sheet for the upcoming semi-reboot/revival of “The Naked Gun” franchise. The poster comes ahead of the film’s full trailer which is due online tomorrow.
The new comedy, dubbed “the single most important #NakedGun movie since the other Naked Gun movies,” will see Liam Neeson star in the film as Detective Frank Drebin.
Joining him will be Paul Walter Hauser as his partner Ed, Pamela Anderson as femme fatale Beth who seeks justice for her brother’s murder, Kevin Durand as the villain and the likes of Danny Huston, CCH Pounder, Cody Rhodes, Liza Koshy, and Eddie Yu in supporting roles.
Neeson and Hauser play the sons of Leslie Nielsen and George Kennedy’s characters who just happen to have the same names. The original late 1980s/early 1990s films made over $476 million at the box office.
“Chip n Dale: Rescue Rangers” writers Dan Gregor and Doug Mand are reuniting with that film’s director Akiva Schaffer on the project.
Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins are producing the new film which has set an August 1st cinema release.
