Royal London Asset Management has sought to expand its presence in Australia with a new head of regional sales, Kevin Haran.

He will be responsible for creating relationships with institutional clients and shaping the business’ strategy for the region.

Royal London said Australia is a strong growth market for the firm given its cultural and regulatory alignment with the UK, so capturing it will be “a key step” in its global growth plan.

Haran joins the company from Affiliated Managers Group, where he spent seven years as head of distribution for Australia and New Zealand.

He said: “I am thrilled to be joining Royal London Asset Management at such a pivotal time in its international growth journey.

“I look forward to deepening our relationships and bringing the breadth and depth of our investment strategies to the region.”

Phil Reid, head of sales at Royal London Asset Management, added: “Kevin brings exactly the right mix of experience, relationships and entrepreneurial energy to lead our growth in Australia.

“His appointment is a major step forward in our ambition to bring Royal London Asset Management’s distinctive investment approach and client-focused culture to a broader global audience. We’re delighted to welcome him to the team.”
