The Private Ear Clinic, which was founded in 2015, is celebrating a decade of ‘improving’ the lives of patients wit ‘expert diagnosis’ and ‘personalised treatment’.

The clinic specialises in providing ‘exceptional’ ear care and hearing health services to residents.

Alongside their Wimborne branch located in the high street, the family-run business has additional clinics in Milford-on-sea, Romsey and Hythe.

Husband and wife, Nigel and Penny Stannard are the managing directors of the business and they work alongside their daughter, Bethany, who is the assistant managing director.

Bethany said: “We offer a complete follow-through service from ear examinations and wax removal to hearing tests and fitting hearing aids.

“We support patients from as young as three years old upwards.

“We’ve seen over 95,000 ears and counting and would like to thank all our customers for their loyal support.”

To mark their ten year anniversary, they are distributing vouchers across the region, giving everyone discounts on their popular wax removal service.

The family started the business following the decision to withdraw a range of ‘vital’ ear care services from NHS hospitals and surgeries.

Penny is a fully qualified hearing therapist and audiologist, who previously worked for Dorset Health Care and in major hospitals across the south.

It is said she is also the only audiologist in the region who specialises in tinnitus management.

Penny said: “We’re unique in that all our staff, which now numbers 16 are all NHS trained.

“Every audiologist, every aural practitioner has an extremely high level of expertise and skillset.

“We’re extremely proud that our Wimborne manager Emma Smith, who has been with us since we opened in the town, is the only NHS recognised trainer for Aural Care in the whole of the south.”

The clinic also has ‘state-of-the-art’ treatment rooms and a soundproof hearing test booth, built by Bethany’s husband Scott.

Bethany said: “Scott worked day and night to strip out the building and create a space that our customers would feel comfortable in.”

The family said the clinic is a ‘pioneer’ in audiology and ear health care, offering state-of-the-art solutions for hearing loss, tinnitus management and earwax removal.

Penny Stannard said: “We use the best equipment in the field including surgical microscopes, which allows us to completely see into the ear.

“Unlike other audiologist services, we are CQC registered and offer syringing, micro-suction and manual removal options, to ensure our clients get the care they deserve.”
