ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Two 17-year-olds face charges following a home invasion over the weekend in Rockford.
Each of the teens are charged with home invasion, possession of stolen property, criminal trespass and aggravated unlawful possession of a firearm.
Around 3:15 a.m. Sunday, June 15, police were called to the 500 block of London Avenue for a report of a home invasion. The victim told officers four males came into the home, two of whom had shotguns.
Officers in the area say they saw two of the suspects running and found them in the basement of a home in the 1500 block of Greenwood Avenue. Investigators reported finding a rifle in the area where the suspects ran.
Both teens were taken to the Winnebago County Juvenile Detention Center. Police have not shared whether anyone else has been charged or detained in the investigation.
