The app provides a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services, allowing users to order prescriptions, make appointments and view test results.

Patients can also see their GP health record, helping them manage their condition without needing to call their GP surgery.

Beverley Braybrook, a regular app user from Test Valley, said: “I am able to make appointments to see my doctor without having to wait in a telephone queue, order repeat prescriptions and review my test results all from the comfort of my armchair.”

NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight is urging people to download the NHS App. (Image: NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight) Dr Tom Bertram, local GP and clinical director, said: “I would encourage everyone to download and use the NHS App as it is a brilliant resource that allows patients to take control of their healthcare.

“GPs are busier than ever and are seeing more and more patients, so if patients can use the app to manage appointments, check test results and order repeat prescriptions it really helps us to free up time to see those who need urgent appointments.”

The app can be downloaded on smartphones or tablets via the Google Play or App Store, or accessed through a web browser.

You must be aged 13 or over to use the NHS App.
