Popular American fast-food chain Popeyes has its sights set on Co Antrim for its second location in Northern Ireland.

Popeyes was founded in New Orleans in 1972 and is known for serving up American Southern-style chicken dishes, seafood and sides.

Customers can expect chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, hot wings, wraps and more when the chain reportedly expands into Antrim town next month.

The new location was revealed when job postings were advertised online looking for staff to join the Popeyes UK team at their newest store at The Junction retail complex.

The job description reads: “At Popeyes UK we are a bunch of big hearted dreamers on a mission to be the most loved chicken brand in the UK, we have a very ambitious growth plan and we want our people to grow with us.

“Do you love life, do you want to just get the most of every day and do something you love with a team where you can just be yourself, enjoy the ride and create moment after moment of joy… for you, your team and our consumers day after day?

“Like the vibe and what we are about?….come join the team, be a fan”.

It has not yet been confirmed when we can expect to see the new location open its door or which unit Popeyes is moving into at The Junction.

It’s first store in Northern Ireland opened in September last year at Lesley Forestside Shopping Centre in Belfast to massive crowds hoping to be the first to get their hands on the Louisiana-style chicken.
