In April, the hospice charity launched a fundraising appeal with the aim of buying two new cuddle beds for families to use.
Cuddle beds are designed to allow patients and their loved ones to lie side-by-side, offering physical closeness, emotional comfort and dignity in the final moments of life.
The hospice now has five cuddle beds in total (Image: Salisbury Hospice Charity) Donors have contributed more than £100,000 to the cause, allowing the charity to buy three new cuddle beds, bringing the hospice’s total to five.
Extra funds raised will be used to support Salisbury Hospice’s vital services, contributing to its end-of-life and palliative care for patients and families across Salisbury and the surrounding areas.

Tom Goodinge, director of marketing and fundraising at Salisbury Hospice Charity, said: “We’ve been truly touched by the extraordinary response to this appeal.
“Because of our community’s generosity, more families can now share precious moments of closeness with their loved ones at the end of life.”
Senior sister Natalie Taylor-Muir (Image: Salisbury Hospice Charity) Senior sister Natalie Taylor-Muir, who led the campaign, added: “These cuddle beds are about so much more than medical care; they represent love, comfort, and a sense of normality.
“Seeing couples lie side by side, just as they have throughout their lives, brings a deep emotional comfort during incredibly difficult times.
“We’re so grateful to everyone who helped make this possible.”
