Knowsley Targeted Team Inspector Brian Loughran said: “These arrests and seizures are great examples of the proactive police work happening across Knowsley on a daily basis. I hope that such positive results encourage those who live, work and visit the area to keep reporting their concerns to police.
“We are acutely aware of the risks caused by the anti-social and dangerous use of off-road bikes in our communities, both in endangering people on our roads and our green spaces, and causing distress to residents and businesses. The best way to prevent harm is to tell us where such bikes are being stored before they are ridden illegally, so please come forward and we will take action.
“Likewise, the seizure of two knives will cause understandable worry. Both arrests should serve as a reminder to those people who carry weapons on the streets to consider their actions, which can cause devastation to their own lives and to the lives of others. Do not take such a reckless risk. We now have removed two weapons from circulation, and two suspects are in custody.
“I would urge people to speak to young people around them about the dangers of knife crime. We continue to seek out those involved in knife crime, or who look to entice young and vulnerable people to carry weapons or become involved in gangs.”
