Tyson Fury might be retired, but he is still drawing ire from a former heavyweight champion.

Fury announced his shock retirement back in January, just a couple of weeks after losing for a second consecutive time to Oleksandr Usyk, having failed to become undisputed champion in their first fight in May 2024.

Since then, many have hoped he will change his mind and return for a blockbuster showdown with Anthony Joshua before both men ultimately walk away for good.

As it stands, Fury will go down in history for his gruelling trilogy with former WBC ruler and knockout king Deontay Wilder. There were three fights, 12 knockdowns, and two wins for Fury as well as the initial draw.

Wilder has not looked the same in the ring since, and has taken two further losses, but returns this weekend for the first time in a year when he takes on Tyrell Herndon.

Speaking to Inside Boxing Live, Wilder laid into ‘The Gypsy King’ when asked about a fighter he has faced that he dislikes.

“I mean, Fury is a cheater. He’s the biggest cheater in boxing. I know what he is, they know what they are. Of course, he’s the biggest [cheater] in boxing.”

Wilder has always thrown lots of ‘cheating’ accusations in the wake of losing his fights to Fury but has no evidence to back up any claims. After one, he blamed and then fired his then cornerman Mark Breland for pulling him out of the fight too early, and after another, he claimed that his outfit featuring a diamond encrusted mask and decorative body armour, weighted 40 pounds and drained his energy on the ring walk so left him weakened for the fight.

As well as that, after their 2020 rematch, he also claimed that Fury illegally tampered with his own gloves, and has repeated the claims several times since, despite offering no proof. Fury has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
