A man is fighting for his life in hospital after being hit by a car in Stockport.

Emergency services were called out to Lower Bents Lane, in Bredbury, at 10.20pm last night (June 20).

Greater Manchester Police says it was called out to reports of a collision involving a Vauxhall Corsa and a pedestrian, near to The Greyhound pub.

It’s believed the car was heading in the direction of Redhouse Lane when the incident took place.

The pedestrian, a 23-year-old man, was rushed to hospital from the scene.

He remains in a life-threatening condition this morning (Saturday) and his family are being supported, GMP says.

Officers are now urging any witnesses – or anyone with relevant CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage – to come forward as soon as possible.
