Leeds United have been busy in the summer transfer window as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of their return to the Premier League.

So far, Leeds United have struck two deals, signing Wolfsburg forward Lukas Nmecha on a free transfer and also landing Udinese defender Jaka Bijol.

However, the Whites are likely to bring in more players over the coming months, as they will be eager to get their squad to Premier League level.

Leeds are currently eyeing a player who Republic of Ireland defender Andrew Omobamidele has deemed the most skilful player he has ever worked alongside.

The player in question is Argentina international Emiliano Buendia, who is surplus to requirements at Aston Villa.

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey recently confirmed that Leeds have held talks over a possible deal for Buendia.

The Whites have also made enquiries about Galatasaray ace Gabriel Sara and Sheffield United’s Gustavo Hamer, as they are determined to get themselves a new No. 10.

Omobamidele took part in Ireland’s latest TikTok video, in which a number of Irish internationals revealed their most skilful teammates.

The Nottingham Forest defender said: “I’ve played with some very good players so far but I’d probably say Emi Buendia.

“Just because, technically, when he was at Norwich with me he was a joke really. In training, some of the stuff he was doing, I’d never seen before.”

Bayer Leverkusen reportedly had an option to buy the Villa midfielder for £17million as part of their loan last season.

What Daniel Farke has said about Emi Buendia

Buendia made 121 appearances under Farke at Norwich City, registering 24 goals and 41 assists in all competitions.

When Norwich sold Buendia to Aston Villa for £33million, Farke sang his praises in two Championship title-winning campaigns and in the Premier League.

“A fantastic player but there are times when you also have to accept the big wish of the player to have this type of move,” he said, as per Pinkun.

“You cannot praise Emi enough. That is for sure.

“Twice a title winner at Championship level and he played a key role in the best season in Norwich’s history, with so many goals and assists.

“But also his workload and pressing was outstanding last season.”
