Suspilne, the Ukrainian national broadcaster, has revealed that alyona alyona will be a songwriter for the Ukrainian selection for Junior Eurovision 2025.

alyona alyona, who represented Ukraine at Eurovision 2024, will write entries for the finalists of the Ukrainian selection for Junior Eurovision 2025. The news was announced during a press conference at the Ukraine Media Centre in Kyiv. As she could not attend the press conference in person, alyona alyona sent a pre-recorded message.

“I am very sorry that I cannot be present in person, but I have the opportunity to convey all my emotions and words to you. I want to say that it is a great honor for me to be involved in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and to pass on my songwriting experience, so that it is useful. Maybe I will help some song or child to become better, to do something beautiful. Perhaps my song will represent Ukraine at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025. Thank you for the opportunity. I wish you all good luck and victory, and see you soon.”

The application window for the Ukrainian selection for Junior Eurovision 2025 is currently open and will remain open until July 10. From all of the applications, a longlist of 15 artists will be invited to a “Star School”, from which six finalists will be selected. In a change to the rules, the sixth finalist may be a group composed of several artists from the “Star School”.

The final of the Ukrainian national selection for Junior Eurovision 2025 will take place in October. The winner will represent Ukraine in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Tbilisi.

Artem Kotenko represented Ukraine at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with “Hear Me Now”. He finished 3rd with 203 points, receiving 12 points from the juries of North Macedonia and Poland. This was Ukraine’s best result and first top 3 finish since 2013.

Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest

Ukraine debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2006 and has competed in the contest ever since. To date, Ukraine has only won the competition once. In 2012, Anastasiya Petryk won in Amsterdam with the song “Nebo”. She scored 138 points including eight sets of 12 points. Ukraine has hosted the contest twice, the first time in 2009 and the second in 2013 following their victory in Amsterdam.
