Derek Chisora has fought Dillian Whyte twice and has now made his prediction for ‘The Body Snatcher’s upcoming fight with Moses Itauma.

Whyte is on the comeback trail after being away from the sport due to a failed doping test that saw him pulled from a 2023 rematch with Anthony Joshua. He was later cleared of any wrongdoing by the UK Anti-Doping Agency. At 37-years-old, Whyte is looking for one last crack at the top as a former world title challenger who has fought the likes of Tyson Fury, Joseph Parker and Chisora.

Itauma is very much a man on the rise. The 20-year-old is undefeated and has won 10 of his 12 fights so far by stoppage, including against Demsey McKean and Mariusz Wach, both inside the first two rounds.

Speaking to talkSPORT Boxing, Chisora was asked what he made of Whyte – who he drew with before losing by brutal knockout in their rematch – versus Itauma.

“I even phoned Dillian and said I don’t know why you’re talking this fight, this kid is on fire right now. He’s getting better and better. He’s not going backwards, he’s going forward … He’s 20? Jesus Christ. Someone needs to call the police and get them done for attempted murder for making that fight happen.

“That is not the fight to make right now. Moses is on fire, so we need to decide who goes to prison when Dillian gets battered badly. There’s no light at the end of that tunnel.”

‘Del Boy’ was then asked if he thought WBO number 1 Moses would be world champion by the end of next year.

“Yes, yes, cause he’s a good guy, he respects everybody, he loves training, he’s got manners, he’s got manners.”

The pair step into the ring on August 16 out in Riyadh, with WBA featherweight champion Nick Ball putting his title on the line against Sam Goodman to top the undercard.
