You may be breathing a sigh of relief that last weekend’s heatwave is over, but get ready for more warm weather, as temperatures are set to climb again in Bristol in just a matter of days.

While Tuesday, June 24, remains mostly cloudy, according to the Met Office, it could begin to feel quite humid again.

And by Wednesday, June 25, temperatures are expected to climb to a maximum of 26°C, with a “more humid feel”.

And as we head into the weekend and towards next week, there is the chance of “some occasional very warm, perhaps locally hot weather”, with “bursts of hotter air” being blown in from the south and south-west.

By Sunday, June 29, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 25°C.

On Monday, June 30, this is set to rise even further to a sweltering 27°C.

Temperatures could get to the high 20s

Meteorologist Alex Deakin has outlined the forecast we can expect over the coming days, starting with Tuesday afternoon.

He said: “Much of the south will be staying dry, and brighter skies here will really bring a more humid feel as temperatures jump up to 25°C or 26°C, maybe even a degree or so higher.”

Looking ahead into Wednesday, he continued: “Many places are looking dry through Wednesday and we should see brighter skies, and again quite warm and humid across the south and the east.

“If the sun does break out here, temperatures could get up into the high 20s, so quite warm and quite humid in this zone.”

Thunderstorms expected midweek

However, the weather expert did also note that there may be some “big thunderstorms” sweeping across the south through Wednesday evening and into Thursday morning, before temperatures are then set to climb again over the weekend.

And the Met Office longer-range forecast for the period June 28 to July 7 states: “Weather conditions are expected to be remain changeable through this period, as a series of Atlantic low pressure systems pass to the northwest of the UK.

“Whilst some rain or showers will be possible across the south and east, here longer, drier spells are more likely, under the influence of higher pressure.

“There is also the chance of some occasional very warm, perhaps locally hot weather, as south or south-westerly winds allow brief bursts of hotter air to encroach from the continent, but probably fairly short-lived, and perhaps also accompanied by a few thunderstorms at times.”
