One of the city’s most popular festivals is back today (Wednesday) as Bristol Sounds takes over the harbourside for five days of incredible headline acts.

The annual music event is Bristol’s alternative to Glastonbury Festival – also kicking off today just one hour down the road.

Once again there are some huge names set to headline the event over the next five days including Supergrass, Kaiser Chiefs, Texas, The Fratellis and Olly Murs.

Thousands of people are expected to be heading down to the Lloyds Amphitheatre over the next five nights.

For people heading down there the weather looks like it will hopefully remain dry for the rest of the week with highs of 25C over the next five days.

But while temperatures are expected to remain warm it may not be blazing sunshine with plenty of cloud forecast for some of the nights.

There are still tickets available for all the acts – however you’ll need to be quick if you want to see Kaiser Chiefs, Texas or Olly Murs as only a few tickets remain for them.

Saturday (June 28) is an all-day event with The Fratellies headlining, joined by Cast, Sleeper, Goldie Lookin Chain, and Stereo MCs.

There will be some tickets available at the box office at the Lloyd Amphitheatre – but what are you allowed to bring with you? This year’s full list of banned items for Bristol Sounds includes:

  • Bags must be no larger than A4. All bags will be searched upon entry.
  • Flags
  • Chairs
