Classic-winning trainer Paul Cole, who saddled Generous to win the 1991 Derby, is set to retire.

As reported by The Sun, Cole, who enjoyed more than 1,500 winners in Britain during a stellar career, will hand his training operation to his son Oliver, with whom he’s shared a licence since 2020.

Cole has been training at Whatcombe, Wantage since 1987 and was crowned Britain’s champion Flat trainer in 1991.
