A brand new Oasis mural is set to be unveiled in Manchester next week ahead of the huge reunion tour. The art piece will be added to Afflecks’ iconic mosaic wall in the city centre.

Definitely Maybe, Manchester’s only Oasis-themed bar and live music venue, has teamed up with Afflecks and mosaic artist Mark Kennedy to bring a new mosaic of Liam and Noel Gallagher to fans.

The piece will be unveiled to the public on Tuesday (July 1) at midday to officially mark the start of Oasis season and to commemorate the momentous moment that the band reunite on home ground later this month.

Definitely Maybe opened in December last year and is gearing up for the moment when fans from the city and across the country will flock to Manchester to soak up the atmosphere in the city where it all started.

Paul Gallagher, Definitely Maybe’s founder, commented: “We have had such a positive welcome in the city since we opened – we have built a great community here, not just for fans but anyone who just loves a good night out.

“So we couldn’t let this huge occasion pass without marking it with something special. By emblazoning the band on the wall of this iconic building we want to bring something to the city that will really commemorate the moment.”

Taking its place on the wall of Afflecks’ building on Tib Street as part of the world-famous mosaic wall, the mural joins the display of existing artworks by Mark Kennedy featuring legendary faces associated with the city including Eric Cantona, Karl Marx, Morrissey, Emmeline Pankhurst and Ian Brown amongst others.

AJ Martyn, Afflecks’ general manager, added: “Our mosaic wall continues to attract love and attention from all over the world, and now to unveil a new portrait of two of the city’s most famous sons as we welcome them back to home turf is just the perfect addition to this iconic part of our beloved building.”

Mark Kennedy, mosaic artist, summed up the mosaic too: “The space on the mosaic wall couldn’t be for anyone else.

“It had to be Liam and Noel. I’m delighted to have worked with Definitely Maybe and Afflecks to bring this to the city.”

The bar also is giving one fan the chance to reveal the artwork for the very first time in front of the crowds. The winner will also bag a £150 bar tab at Definitely Maybe and a £150 Afflecks voucher to spend on merch, music and more.

For those going to the shows, or planning a trip to Manchester during the Heaton Park dates, every day that Oasis are playing at Heaton Park, Definitely Maybe will be hosting an all day long gig party, with live music from 10am.

Tickets are £20 for a 2-hour time slot, with all guests receiving a welcome drink, bucket hat and 10% off merch.

The new Oasis mural will officially unveiled at midday on Tuesday, July 1.
