We just saw this with Dai Yongge at Reading Football Club, where an owner can cause a club to go close to the brink of administration.
Unpaid wages (to both players and staff), transfer embargo and the club left flailing to stay afloat is all too familiar, so they need a manager who can turn things around and keep the morale up in uncertain times.
Sheffield Wednesday were charged with multiple breaches of EFL regulations earlier this month and owner Chansiri offered his ‘sincere apologies’ in a club release shortly after the charges were announced.
Rohl was then absent for the first day of the season hinting at an imminent move.
Danish football manager and Sheffield Wednesday’s assistant head coach Henrik Pedersen leads the betting having managed a range of clubs including Vendsyssel FF most recently.
But that was his last role which ended in 2023 and his win percentage sits in the low with 33.33% for the four senior clubs he’s been in charge of.
Pedersen has a long history of management though, first getting a role back in 1997 starting his youth manager career with Holstebro BK.
And of course being involved so closely with the club since October 2023 he could be the best option for Wednesday.
