Prince William received praise from his previous Earthshot Prize winner
Prince William isn’t afraid to bend some royal rules to get things done.
During Hello! magazine’s pilot episode of A Right Royal Podcast during London Climate Action Week, Earthshot Prize’s 2022 winner Pierre Paslier opened up about working with the Prince of Wales and revealed a surprising side to the future king.
Paslier, who co-founded the sustainable packaging brand Notpla, described their early meetings as “intimidating” but quickly realised William was as genuine as he seems.
“He is exactly the way he comes across,” the entrepreneur said, recalling a visit the royal made to his seaweed lab in Hackney Wick.
“Everything was by the minute with a very precise schedule, and he completely threw the schedule out, and stayed an extra hour, and we ended up having pizza!” Paslier shared.
Notpla’s biodegradable packaging has since been used at major venues, including stadiums and Wimbledon. And it was thanks in part to Prince William’s advocacy.
According to Hello!, the Prince has used his platform to push meaningful change through the Earthshot Prize, which spotlights climate solutions.
The episode also highlighted Princess Kate’s dedication to nature and the environment, especially as she continues her recovery following her recent battle with cancer.
