Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao has shared his thoughts on the upcoming showdown between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford.

The pound-for-pound superstars are gearing up for their highly anticipated ‘mega-fight’ which is set to take place on Saturday September 13 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Crawford is set to make the jump up in two weight classes to face the Mexican icon, having spent almost the entirety of his professional career campaigning at welterweight where he captured the undisputed championship with a victory over Errol Spence Jr two years ago.

Another fighter who has found himself in the debate for being one of the greatest fighters ever is eight-division world champion Pacquiao, who is just weeks away from making a sensational return to the sport at 46-years-old.

In an interview with Fight Hub TV, Pacquiao gave an honest assessment of Crawford’s prospects of making the move up to 168lbs and dethroning Canelo against all odds. saying the task is ‘not easy’.

“That’s not easy for Crawford, I mean Canelo has the big advantage but Crawford needs to manage well, his body, his speed and his power because he’s moving up to another level of weight.”

‘PacMan’ was then asked to share some advice to Crawford, having gone up through the weights himself during his own career.

“You know preparing [for] opponents like that, it’s not only the speed but the techniques that you can use in the fight, make sure in your daily routine, training routine, make sure that all the techniques, strategies, combinations is accurate to your opponents style.”

Victory for Crawford would see the 37-year-old from Omaha make boxing history by becoming the first fighter ever to win an undisputed championship in three weight classes, having already achieved this at super-lightweight and welterweight.
