West Midlands Police  said the 17-year-old suffered “serious leg injuries” during th incident which happened in Oldknow Road, in Small Heath on Wednesday(25).

Officers have now charged Mohammed Amir, aged 30, from Birmingham, who appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Friday charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving. 

He was also charged with driving without insurance, driving whilst disqualified and failing to stop after a road accident. He was remanded in custody.

Farhaad Sajid, aged 20, also from Birmingham, also appeared in court on the same date charged with dangerous driving. He was given conditional bail.

A third man has been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Officers were called to Oldknow Road just after 3pm to reports a 17-year-old girl had been hit by a car. 

The force added that investigations were continuing and it was still appealing for anyone who saw what happened, or has any dashcam or CCTV footage, to call phone 101 quoting reference log 3448 of 25 June.
