Nairn has been named as the best seaside town in Scotland, according to a UK-wide survey.

This year’s rankings published by the consumer rights watchdog Which? saw Nairn shine above other coastal towns across the country — particularly for its scenery and peace and quiet, both of which got a five-star ranking from reviewers.

According to Which?, the positioning near the start of the NC500 and close to Inverness Airport make it a popolar destination.

“But it’s worth a visit in its own right,” the publication states.

“It’s four white beaches, backed with dunes, scored four stars in our survey and it garnered five stars for scenery, with the Culbin Forest nearby.

“There’s nothing to choose between it and the equally lovely St Andrews for a Scottish seaside break – both get a destination score of 76 per cent – but Nairn also gets five stars for peace and quiet.”

Four-star ratings were given to the beach and parking, whilst tourist attractions scored three stars.

The overall winner for the UK was Bamburgh, in Northumberland.

The results of the rankings were based on an online survey conducted by Which? Connect panel members between January and March 2025.

Nairn had a sample size of 35.
