Bethenny Frankel, a notable figure from the Real Housewives of New York City, recently weighed in on the extravagant Italian wedding of Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos. The billionaire duo marked their nuptials with an opulent $20 million ceremony last Friday, drawing a crowd of high-profile celebrities and global social media influencers.

Sanchez, 55, who was previously divorced, tied the knot with Bezos in a wedding that has drawn comparisons to the Royal matrimony of Prince Harry, 40, and Meghan Markle, 43. Markle, known for her role in Suits, was formerly married to Trevor Engleson from 2011 to 2014 before she fell for the Duke of Sussex in 2016.

Despite these parallels, Frankel, 54, highlighted a key difference between Sanchez and Markle: their respective access to their husbands’ wealth.

In a TikTok video, Frankel commented, “They both became famous when they came together. He was a dork before he met Lauren. He had money, but Lauren was like, ‘Honey, I’ll show you how to spend that money.’ She bagged the elephant; she is the Meghan Markle with no rules.”

She further elaborated, “I have been saying this from the beginning. Meghan Markle joined the Royal Family and had to play by the rules. This one…he makes the rules. When you are Jeff Bezos, you make the rules. So she doesn’t have to play by any rules. He is living his best life.”

“This just goes to show that it’s never too late for your moment to arrive,” she added.

This comes as Bezos and Sanchez bid farewell to their Venice hotel on Sunday, wrapping up a three-day wedding spectacle before jetting off on their honeymoon. The festivities took place two years after Bezos popped the question to Sanchez on his $500 million superyacht. The nuptials were described as “extremely intimate,” with a strict no-phone rule in place, and family members making up around 70 of the 200 guests.

Sanchez shared with Vogue that her wedding dress drew inspiration from the high-necked lace gown Sophia Loren donned for her on-screen wedding to Cary Grant in the 1958 movie Houseboat.
