Canelo Alvarez has expressed an interest in locking horns with an unbeaten contender in the future.

The 34-year-old from Guadalajara, Mexico is a little under 70 fights into an outstanding professional career which began two decades ago when he was just 15-years-old.

He has picked up world titles in four weight classes throughout his tenure, as well as becoming the first fighter of the ‘four belt era’ to capture the undisputed super-middleweight championship on two occasions.

Canelo is just several months away from his monumental showdown with fellow pound-for-pound great Terence Crawford, with the duo set to face each other at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Saturday September 13.

As he prepares to do battle with ‘Bud’ later this year, Canelo revealed in an interview with talkSPORT that he would be keen on a future bout against world middleweight title challenger Hamzah Sheeraz.

“It would be a pleasure for me to fight in the UK. We will see after this. It is a possibility [to fight Sheeraz], why not?”

Sheeraz has proven himself to be a serious contender over the last 18 months, but could not pull off the victory against reigning WBC middleweight champion Carlos Adames earlier this year after their showdown in Riyadh was declared a controversial split decision draw.

The 26-year-old from Essex is gearing up for his super-middleweight debut which comes against world title challenger and former Canelo foe Edgar Berlanga Jr in New York City on July 12.

Victory for Sheeraz would put the unbeaten Brit in the frame for a world title shot at 168lbs, which could even come against Canelo should the Mexican icon get the better of Crawford in September. Riyadh Season’s Turki Alalshikh has named the fight as one with strong potential.
