Ouse View Care Home was awarded a five-star rating following an unannounced inspection by the Food Standards Agency.

The inspection, which took place last week, found no areas for improvement.

Rebekka Richardson, general manager at Ouse View, said: “We are delighted that Ouse View was rated five stars following the Food Standard Agency’s most recent inspection.

“The team at Ouse View work so hard to ensure the home has the very best hygiene levels so it is wonderful to have everyone’s hard work recognised.”

Ouse View Care Home is operated by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers.

Barchester supports more than 12,000 residents across 248 care homes and hospitals.

The care home offers residential and dementia care, including respite and long-term placements.

Delivering care for more than 30 years, it provides a range of services including nursing care, dementia support, and neuro-rehabilitation.

Many of its homes feature a dedicated Memory Lane Community to support residents living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

Barchester also operates six independent mental health hospitals.

The company is led by Dr Pete Calveley, chief executive officer, who was named RoSPA’s Influencer of the Year 2021 for his advocacy of mandatory vaccination for care home staff, which led to a change in the law.

Barchester has also received a RoSPA Health and Safety Award for the seventh consecutive year.
