Oasis are currently preparing to kick off their highly anticipated reunion tour which will take the band around the UK, starting in Cardiff tonight.

Fans have been gathering at the Principality in Cardiff since yesterday, with the most dedicated fans camping out overnight to secure the best spots at tonight’s gig.

Back in 1991 the Gallagher brothers made their live debut at the Boardwalk club in their home town of Manchester before going on to perform a total of 10 concerts at the venue at the start of their career.

Our map of every one of 261 Oasis gigs in the UK listed over the 34 years since their first stage appearance reveals that the Boardwalk is still the place where the band has performed the most concerts.

But all that is about to change on the reunion tour which will see the band in some very familiar stadium backstage dressing rooms.

You can see details of every one of the band’s 261 UK gigs since 1991 in our interactive map:

All the 17 UK dates scheduled for the reunion tour this year will be at venues which the Gallagher brothers played on the final tour before they split up in 2009.

Tonight will be the first time the band has played the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, but they have actually performed at the venue twice before – in 2005 and in 2009 – when it was called the Millennium Stadium.

After two nights in Cardiff, the Gallagher brothers are heading to Manchester’s Heaton Park with five gigs starting from next Friday. Oasis played three concerts at Heaton Park during the Dig Out Your Soul tour of 2009.

The other two venues on the reunion tour – Wembley Stadium and Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh were also on the 2009 Dig Out Your Soul tour. Oasis have played Wembley five times previously, and have another seven nights planned at the national stadium on this tour.

With a total of 12 concerts, that will mean Wembley Stadium overtakes the Boardwalk as the venue where Oasis have played the most gigs during their career.

As well as Oasis – the Charlatans, Happy Mondays and Northside all performed at the Boardwalk club on Little Peter Street in Manchester when it was at the heart of the city’s ‘Madchester’ music scene.

But there is no chance of the Gallagher brothers adding to their total of appearances at the Boardwalk with any surprise gigs – the venue shut down in 1999 and is now an office block which is home to a financial services company.
