Daniel Dubois‘ second fight with Oleksandr Usyk is just days away, and is the latest to offer his prediction.

Usyk is one of boxing’s best ever fighters and as yet has not been beaten in the professional ring. He was the undisputed cruiserweight back in 2018 and then moved up to the banner division where, in May 2024, he beat [tag]Tyson Fury to become undisputed in a second weight class.

Before that, he fought and beat Anthony Joshua twice, and also took on Dubois in Poland in August 2023. That fight was the closest he has come to being beaten, and the first time in the pro ranks that he has been down on the canvas after ‘DDD’ landed what he thought was a huge body shot.

However, it was judged to have been a low blow, so the Ukrainian was given all the time he needed to recover. By the ninth round, he had recomposed himself and got back on top and eventually stopped Dubois with a solid jab.

The rematch will be a chance for him to set a historic first by becoming the only man to ever be undisputed twice in the heavyweight division during the four-belt era.

Speaking to iFL TV, former world heavyweight champion Briggs was asked who he thinks will come out on top when the pair come to blows on July 19.

“Tough one but I got Usyk, I got Usyk, yes.”

The winner will soon have to deal with mandatories for the IBF and WBC, including Derek Chisora and Joseph Parker, while Usyk has also been called out for a trilogy fight with Fury next year.
