Officers from West Midlands Police were called to reports of a disturbance at a house on Talbot Street in Hockley, Birmingham, on Saturday morning (July 5) and an officer was seriously injured after trying to arrest John Davies.
The 57-year-old was subsequently arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm, as well as being charged with wounding with intent of a member of the public during the same incident and of assaulting another officer, who was punched during the disorder.
Davies was scheduled to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Monday (July 7).
West Midlands Police also confirmed that all those injured in the incident are now recovering.
