The snack company confirmed the news Monday after rumors were swirling online about a gluten-free version of the popular cheesy cracker.
WASHINGTON — Cheez-It is bringing a gluten-free option to store shelves next year.
The snack company confirmed the news on Monday after rumors had been circulating online about the gluten-free version of the popular cheesy cracker.
“Cheez-It has officially confirmed Gluten-free Original Cheez-It crackers will hit store shelves in 2026,” the company said in an email statement. “This gluten-free recipe packs the same cheesy, crunchy, salty, deliciousness fans crave, so no one has to miss out on the iconic, 100% real cheese crunch of a Cheez-It cracker.”
The change comes as Cheez-It says it’s “been hearing from fans who have had to transition to a gluten-free diet, as well as fans who have never been able to snack on Cheez-It for many years.”
“Perfection takes time. Cheez-It Original Gluten Free crackers coming 2026 😌,” Cheez-It said on Instagram.
When will gluten-free Cheez-It be available?
The snack brand did not set an official date for when the gluten-free option will be available, but it said it will arrive on store shelves nationwide in 2026.
Cheez-It confirmed the new gluten-free snack will be safe for those with Celiac Disease, classifying it as a Gluten-Free Certified Product.
Celiac Disease is an inherited autoimmune disorder that causes a reaction to the protein gluten, often found in grains such as wheat, barley and rye. According to the Cleveland Clinic, gluten triggers an immune response in your small intestine.
Symptoms of celiac disease range widely, but some people experience indigestion or other gastrointestinal symptoms such as bloating, gas, constipation, stomach pain and diarrhea.
