Marvel vet Mark Ruffalo didn’t quite go full Hulk on Joe Rogan for the pugilistic podcaster’s recent realization that Donald Trump and masked ICE agents’ harsh attacks and rounding-up of undocumented and non-criminal Latino immigrants are cruel and out of control, but the multiple Oscar nominee got pretty close.

“Dear @joerogan. It’s a little late now to pretend like project 2025 didn’t exist and wasn’t the play book all along. You are either not that smart or not that dumb. It’s hard to tell at this point,” Avengers alum and political advocate Ruffalo posted on the Mark Zuckerberg-owned Threads on July 6, with reference to the nearly 1,000 page publication that Trump disavowed during last year’s election and embraced with a vengeance once he was back in the White House.

Having offered up swipes at Elon Musk, Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA), MAGA pundit Charlie Kirk and the ever opinionated billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman online over the past week, the Ruffalo was responding to Rogan’s outburst against the ICE abductions occurring in Blue states as part of a widening intimidation process by the Trump White House.

“We were told there would be no, — well, there’s two things that are insane,” Rogan declared on the July 2 edition of  The Joe Rogan Experience with Replit CEO Amjad Masad as his guest. “One is the targeting of migrant workers. Not cartel members, not gang members, not drug dealers. Just construction workers. Showing up in construction sites, raiding them. Gardeners. Like, really?”

Taking a different approach than Ruffalo, Arizona Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) posted on his private Instagram account his own agreement with Rogan, who once upon a long time ago was a big fan of Sen, Bernie Sanders (D-VA):

Masked, mainly badgeless and heavily armed ICE agents or individuals working with United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement unit have been swarming Home Depots, factories, car washes and homes throughout Southern California, Chicago and New York over the last month. In early June, as protests rose up in LA over the raids, Trump federalized the California National Guard and mobilized 700 U.S. Marines to quell the dissent. Often lacking a valid warrant, and refusing to properly identify themselves, the agents have been plucking people off the streets based on what appears to be their skin color, snagging U.S. citizens and legal residents repeatedly in the process — as well as one U.S. Senator and a NYC Mayorial candidate.

Allegedly, ICE and DHS are under pressure from White House Chief of Staff and top Trump whisperer Stephen Miller to get their numbers up 3,000 detentions a day, plus mass deportations. Of late, in a rare instance of going further than the right-wing Project 2025 itself, Trump has been testing out the notion of kicking U.S. citizens, naturalized and born here, out of the country too.

To that, Trump’s just signed-into-law Big Beautiful Bill provides billions for the building of detention camps in the Land of the Free and a massive injection of cash and resources into ICE that will make the agency one of the largest armed forces on the planet. Under his own threat from once close pal Trump too, Elon Musk, the world’s richest man and the top GOP donor in last year’s election, has formed a new political party, the America Party to challenge the Republicans and some Democrats too over the deficit busting bill – Rogan and Musk have been tight and mutual admirers for a while.

A big boastful supporter of Trump in the 2024 election and always there to give the now returned to power POTUS a big hug ringside at UFC matches, the influencial Rogan first expressed his dismay with the ICE raids and detentions back in mid-June

“Bro, these ICE raids are fucking nuts, man,” Rogan exclaimed on his JRE.

“Well, I don’t think if they, the Trump administration, if they’re running and they said, we’re gonna go to Home Depot and we’re gonna arrest all the people at Home Depot, we’re gonna go to construction sites, and we’re gonna just, like, tackle people at construction sites,” he added. “I don’t think anybody would have signed up for that. They said, we’re gonna get rid of the criminals and the gang members first, right? And now we’re, we’re seeing, like, Home Depots get raided. Like, that’s crazy.”

A longtime activist on global warming and other progressive causes and out on the streets during the No Kings protests last month, Ruffalo, along with several other members of the MCU, was a big and very vocal backer of Kamala Harris‘ campaign to stop Trump getting back to the Oval Office. That effort was clearly unsuccessful.
