Mikel Arteta gives Arsenal injury update

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has given some positive injury updates ahead of his side’s clash with Real Madrid in the Champions League.

The Gunners have been sweating over the fitness of Thomas Partey and Ben White, who were fortunately spotted in training ahead of the tie.

On the duo, Arteta told the press: “Ben White trained today so he will be in the squad… Yeah, he [Thomas Partey] is available.

“He had a little niggle during the [Brentford] game, that’s why he had to come off but he felt good in the last few days so that’s fine.”

As for Jorginho, he is set to miss out as Arteta added: “Jorgi, unfortunately, is not here after the incident on the weekend, he has not recovered. Our thoughts are with him.”

Arsenal prepare Bukayo Saka contract offer

Arsenal are ready to offer Bukayo Saka a contract worth £300k-a-week as plans to step up talks over his deal intensify, Arsenal Insider understands.

The winger is nearing the final two years under contract with the Gunners, putting him at risk of a dwindling deal.

The potential contract offer would make him the top earner at the club, while there is hope that it will be sealed before the summer.

Carlo Ancelotti discusses Kylian Mbappe impact

Arsenal are set with the challenge of keeping Kylian Mbappe quiet when they take on Real Madrid at the Bernabeu on Wednesday night.

The Frenchman was unable to make his chances count in the reverse fixture, while his week was made even worse by getting sent off against Alaves.

Mbappe could make amends against Arsenal, though, as Carlo Ancelotti said on the impact of the star before the match: “Obviously he [Mbappe] was hurt and disappointed.
